Ruth's journey in the world of textiles began in her early years, where she immersed herself in painting, sewing, and exploring various multimedia techniques. Her passion led her to pursue formal education in fashion and business at Brighton University in England, where she discovered her fascination with knitted textiles. Ruth delved into every aspect, from sourcing materials to hand-dyeing yarn, and creating garments from scratch using knitting machines.

After university, Ruth's career in knitwear took her across the globe, with work experiences in New York, London, Italy, Hong Kong, and China. She had the privilege of contributing her expertise to renowned brands such as Donna Karan, Urban Zen, Alexander Wang, TSE Cashmere, DKNY, Barneys New York, Club Monaco, and White and Warren.

Throughout her career, Ruth has excelled in both sweater and cut-and-sew design roles, always remaining hands-on in the creative process. Her work involves everything from initial inspiration and sketches to technical specifications and production oversight. Ruth has also honed her skills in team management, understanding that collaboration is essential for achieving exceptional end products and creative outcomes.

In 2017, Ruth took a leap of faith and founded Treehouse Workshop, embarking on a successful freelance career. Over the past few years, she has worked as a consultant for notable brands like Donna Karan - Urban Zen, Ann Taylor - Lou and Grey, and spent the last two years designing knitwear for Alexander Wang.

Currently, Ruth holds the position of Head Designer at White and Warren, where she oversees all aspects of the design process. From shaping seasonal inspiration and color palettes to crafting designs, sketches, technical specifications, and conducting fittings, Ruth seamlessly collaborates with factories to bring her creative visions to life.

Ruth's enthusiasm and energy for fashion and knitwear is still very much alive and my passion and creativity has only grown with her experience in the industry.
